"I joined Nokia in 2015, working for Nokia LBS(Location Based Service) team as an algorithm/software engineer. My work is in LTE and 5G domain including protocol comprehension, software development and algorithm research. Also, as a member of Nokia local AI Elite group, I was entitled Nokia Innovation Star in 2017 with a machine learning text classification based TAF log analyzer. I obained my Master degree from Chalmers University, Sweden in 2014."

What do you like about working at Nokia?

"I like the industry, consumer products, software, flat management, innovation, and access to leaders."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You need to like challenges (culture, people, tasks), and learn how to navigate politics."

What don't you like about working at Nokia?

"There was not enough transparency from middle management. The environment had a fear of failing culture that included risk-averse managers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Nothing different at the top. I would fire half of mid-management."

What do you like about working at Nokia?

"I liked the working environment and social side of my co-workers. Nokia is/was a well-known and highly praised company which gave me pride."

"Read about Agile. Try to offer something more than standard C skills."

What don't you like about working at Nokia?

"Nokia has been, as identified in the press, sliding down the market. There is a very much old world philosophy still in place. Politics take precedence of actions. Recent recruits (at my site) are lacking ANY skills - even at Senior level."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Speak to the ground floor programmers and tester. Your job isn't to please your boss - it's to please those you manage."

What do you like about working at Nokia?

"There is an overwhelming attitude present in the work environment which promotes openness and sharing of innovative ideas, where boundaries between management, senior staff, and junior staff can be blurred for the sake of progression."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"For the NRC department of NOKIA, a minimum and or equivalent of a master's degree/Ph.D is a necessity"

What don't you like about working at Nokia?

"When companies become too big, it is not easy for management or people at the higher echelon to make radical changes, so there is less flexibility in adapting to market(s) that are constantly fluctuating."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Because NOKIA is a big company, the layers of management should be streamlined to efficiently execute proposals and plans."
