"Never take anyone's word for anything. Get everything in writing. Lying is an acceptable part of the culture."

"There is no room for advancement. Decisions are made behind closed doors and no one knows who is making them."

"I would implement a merit or bonus system to ensure retention of top employees. I would also make all decisions public."

"I do not like my compensation and growth potential at UVU"

"Pay more attention to the employee compensation levels in the HelpDesk Department."
What do you like about working at FEMA?
"Amazing workforce, extremely diversed group of individuals coming from all walks of life, wishing to assist those devastated by disasters. Open door policy with all issues, and major emphasis on team building. Advancement is always encouraged and supported by supervisors."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Only tip I would have is to be yourself. They have an extremely relaxed dress policy, code of conduct is fairly loose, though anything discriminatory is not accepted in any way shape or form. The most supportive group of people you will meet, with very few people worrying about the whole Climbing the ladder bit."
What don't you like about working at FEMA?
"The travel is a major issue with someone like myself; young father with a wife and 2 kids. I was deployed for 12 months out of the past 14 months."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Nothing. Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions to their direct supervisor, and it moves up the ladder. Chain of Command is utilized heavily in the Federal Government, and I feel that it works great. Management is always willing to accept feedback from all personnel, and are always willing to take initiative in satisfying all parties."

"New opportunities to deployment my personal skills and new oportunities for my familiy"

"I do not like to change the employment rules unilaterally without notice."

"High micromanagement, high stress levels, and no feeling of job stability."
What do you like about working at AT&T?
"The salary and benefits are very good. Coworkers are great."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Have a low enough standard of living so that you don't get trapped."
What don't you like about working at AT&T?
"The extreme level of micromanagement and oversight. The constant feeling that any mistake will land you on the street. Rules to force extreme detail in work, and then the extra busy work that prevents you from doing it properly. Then, having to take shortcuts to finish on time and risking a violation of policy from one of the many auditing groups who have never done the job under the new guidelines, and have all the time in the world to find a mistake (a.k.a. bean counters)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Loosen the reins. Let managers manage instead of micromanaging. Establish a standard level for the next higher manager, so that being unlucky in the group you're in doesn't stifle management ability or decision-making. Better yet, create a more stable working environment that isn't managed by fear."
