Nationwide Student Loans Employee

"Bad place to work at. When they hire you, they lie about how much money the other telemarketers are making. The top people only make about $3K a month. They do not train you at all. First they give you a stack of papers to read about the history of student loans which has nothing to do with the job. Then you 'shadow' another telemarketer, i.e.: you sit behind them and watch them. He tries to train you in random ways but it's not really his job and they don't know what to show you. When I was hired the manager told me to do it his way and don't listen to anyone else. So I did it his way and worked harder than anyone else there. The result? I was fired because I wasn't making enough sales. But that's not unusual for this place. Their turnover rate is tremendous. I was there one month and saw five people leave and they only have about 8 people working there total. The managers are very lazy and don't do anything but play on their phones and drink Starbucks."
