"The OT I have gotten out of working 7 days a week for 3 months straight."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Only interview with this company if we would like to work for DDC or Advocacy. They are the ONLY departments that are staffed. Every other department sees extreme cutbacks in EVERY aspect."

What don't you like about working at National Safety Council?

"The staff is extremely overworked. Most departments are extremely understaffed. There are way too many managers and too few worker bees. I believe that the CEOs do not listen to majority of their staff. I believe that the company is not honest. They lie to their members and stretch the truth about what is really going on at the council. IT is not supported by the Council well. It is hard to get ideas and procedures implemented. The staff does not receive the tools they need to complete their job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire more worker bees. Listen to your staff, and work better with other departments. We are not in highschool anymore. There should not be clicks in the office."

"This used to be a good company to work for until the newest executive management team arrived several years ago. They terminated most of the company staff targeting the senior staff and the over fifty crowd. I don't understand why they did this because they were already making good profit for a non-profit organization. They created difficult six months reviews for the employees and basically found any reason possible to terminate the staff. The only possible reason this was done would be is to increase bonuses for executive team. A shocking heartless group here."

"Why do so many people hate this company? Here is the solemn truth that I have witnessed. I have worked for many, many companies and I have never witnessed a more monstrous management team. Fired people because of race, age or ethnicity. Fired people, some of the best staff for no known reason. Forced staff to contribute to their charity on threat of termination. I witnessed yelling and terminations all over the place while I worked here. For just one example, one of the ladies in Accounting just lost her husband and was softly crying in grief. She was yelled at for crying and fired on the spot. I mean her husband just died! I was fired with a few other people in Accounting for voting for Obama. Almost all of these monsters still work at this company today!!"

"I would avoid this company at all cost. This company went in a dark direction about five years ago when it was taken over by new management. It is about bonuses for top management. They treat employees monstrous. They have reviews every six months and after many good reviews and after 26 years of faithful service they lied on my six month review and fired me on the spot. I met all of my goals that they lied and said I didn't. I was told that the reviews were dictated from upper management. I wish I had never heard of this company. It has been very hard for me an my family."

"I worked at NSC for over twenty years and was happy until the new executive team arrived several years ago. That is when all the yelling and craziness started throughout the council. The management was given directive to terminate almost everyone by whatever means. They decided to have reviews every six months for the purpose of terminating staff and they managed to terminate all the senior staff and older and sickly employees for the executive team's personal gain."

"This company only exists to put money into the people that run this corrupt organization. Continually fire staff. Very difficult six month reviews that result in many terminations. They don't give severance pay and deny unemployment."

"I worked at this company for twenty years and out of nowhere and without any notice I was fired. About five years ago upper management decided to terminate almost the entire company staff. They were profitable and everything was going very good. I was told they decided they wanted new faces. So they fired most of the company and hired unqualified cronies. "I am a black man that worked for the council for almost twenty years before being fired. They claim I used a cell phone while driving and fired me just like that. The truth is they fired all the black people at this place in the last few years because the management here is racist. They did recently hire a black woman HR Director. But she is only for show. I have several white friends that worked here that were also fired for voting for Obama. The most racist person here is the man that heads this company. I have heard a lot of bad stuff about him and his blond girlfriend that works under him. These are bad people."

"I am an African American woman and worked at this company for 35 years before I was fired with almost all the other African American people that worked here simply for the color of our skin. This occurred about five years ago. Executive team is extreme right wing hate group. All the profits go into the pockets of the egotistical executives that run this place. For this tiny non-profit the execs have offices as big as apartments on the top floor with several secretaries each. This company shows all that is wrong with America."
