Sales Representative
in Dallas, TX

"Namasco was an experience I wish had never happened but I am a better man because of it."

What do you like about working at Namasco?

"Namasco is a financially stable steel distribution center. The crucial role of service delivery to their customers is excellent. The Warehouse personnel are among the best in the industry."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Confirm up front you have the full backing of the Branch Manager. Make sure you know the job description and are the right match for the tasks that will be assigned to you. Establish early on that you will accept nothing less than respectful treatment from lower level managers."

What don't you like about working at Namasco?

"First and foremost, I was not the perfect employee. I made my share of mistakes. There are always two sides to every coin. I did, however, grow the book of business I was assigned to manage in terms of profit and gross sales. I showed up for work and and carried my end of the load. The manager at the Dallas location is a good man. He is creative and fun to work with. The circumstances surrounding my firing with the company centered around a personality conflict with another employee. The Manager did what he had to do to ensure the welfare of both his employees and his family. I cannot fault him for that. I did not address the personality conflict in an assertive manner early on and as a result, I paid the price. In retrospect, I would rather have been terminated within the second week of employment that to allow the situation to linger on as I did for over two years. Again, I do not claim I was the ideal employee but the behavior of the other party in the personality conflict simply would not be tolerated most business scenarios in the world today. The experience has made me a better person and I wish only the best for the manager and the Warehouse staff at this location. I regret it came to this."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I was not a match for an inside sales position. I am more suited to and excel currently in an outside sales capacity. I would advise management to be patient in job placements making sure the right personality type correlates to the right job description. I knew early on, I would be on the inside sales desk. I made a mistake in accepting this position from the get/go."
