"Mutual of Omaha has a great history in the insurance and financial industry. The general company and culture is strong, and most of the people who work in the California area are great people."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you are interviewing for an Agent or Advisor position, just know that (like a everyone in the industry) that the position is really that of a business owner - it is all commission, and if you are looking for a sales position, and NOT to run a business, this will NOT be a good place for you."
What don't you like about working at Mutual of Omaha?
"The support received was poor. I did not (in my opinion) receive the support and tools that were required to make me as effecient and profitable as I would have liked to have been."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I suggest that a standardized system is put into place regarding support, expenses, etc. for a territory, and if that territory is generating higher revenue than others, give that terrirtory more support than others."
"I have worked for Mutual of Omaha since November 2015. I find the company to be moving in the right direction, but moving at a slow pace. Mutual needs to figure out how to make itself more competitive in the insurance market w/ technology at this point it is not."

"Focus on People. Does not make decisions to benefit company at expense of individuals."

"It's a stable solid company, with acceptable pay and benefits. The thing makes it attractive are the individuals you will work with."

"Many of my peers have great ideas and desire, but aren't given the freedom to execute."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be less afraid to just do things. Too much time spent planning not enough executing."
"They make it sound like you have a base salary and that they will provide you with qualified leads and marketing. Also the support and training sucks."
"I worked for Mutual of Omaha for three months. I don't have much to say since I have to leave due to COVID, but the structure of the company was so convoluted I had to sign a second contract after only working for a month."

"Everything. You just will not progress in this company, and the people are very slow to help and understand your problems on cases. Management is terrible."

"Very unstable company when I was there suffering losses and significant turnover."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"none . managers are all gone now"
"It has a lot of potential, but the banking side of the business is brand new to the Insurance Co."

"I enjoyed the people that I worked with. Five years ago it was a small family owned business with great vision. Unfortunately the mortgage situation hit them hard and it was never able to recover"

"No tips. Just recognize the line of business that you are getting into at this point in the economy. It will be a bumpy road for awhile still."
What don't you like about working at Mutual of Omaha?
"In the last year when Mutual of Omaha took over everything was up in the air. It's a big corporation with over 100 years of history taking over a small business in a new arena for them. It wouldn't be fair of me to say what I don't like. I hadn't a chance to really work for the company once everything has settled."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My manager was in desparate need of training. He had no idea how to motivate people or understand what it took to motivate his team to realize the bigger picture. I think the company as a whole is recognizing the deficencies in those management areas."
