"If they ditch their dishonest Inter-Tel employees, consider working for them."

What do you like about working at Mitel Networks?

"They have good technology and are open to many different applications, providing lots of flexibility. Their Canadian corporate culture, coming from an Enterprise-class position, is decent to work with."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Should you choose to work here, be very prepared to be bullied and harassed by the used car salesmen they call Sales Managers. This goes for all employees - not just their Consultants (aka sales). NO ONE IS SAFE! I heard and experienced some of the most abusive, micro-managing, insulting, racist behavior and language working here than I have anywhere - that's from prized managers across the country, not just in one market."

What don't you like about working at Mitel Networks?

"The dishonest used car salesmen company network from Inter-Tel they acquired. Their unfortunate practice of competing against their own vendors. Poorly-planned sales presentations. Their leads generation center is terrible and also shares leads with the vendors. A very expensive product, they are teetering precariously between Cisco and ShoreTel and aren't really sure how to position or compete against either."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get rid of most of your Inter-Tel managers (let the sales staff report to regional management), pare down, make a really good marketing plan (including a very good customizable sales presentation), work harder at getting better, more qualified leads, make it easier to present to and compete with the really big clients, who Mitel should be targeting. DO NOT TREAT YOUR STAFF LIKE GERBILS, being incessantly micro-managed and harassed!"
