"Awesome company to work for! Management is down to earth and works as a team. Benefits are good and the pay is ok. But you can give yourself a raise by earning commission on new business and direct sales. It can get a bit stressful at times, but all jobs have good and bad days. At the end of the week you take a good paycheck home, customers are happy and you get that feeling of satisfaction of taking care of your family and customers."

Assistant Production Manager

"While working at Mission Linen Supply, I have picked up a lot of new skills in a new working environment. This position was a transition from my life in the transportation industry to a warehouse style environment. There are hundreds of employees and the retention rate is wonderful. Many people are family and stay for a lifetime. Would definitely recommend."

"Unhealthy environment with a ghetto-mentality vibe. Hard labor production work."

What do you like about working at Mission Linen Supply?

"I have to say the pay is more than expected (starts between $9.50 or $10/hr. Even though I checked $30-40,000 income below, there isn't a lower category to select), which still isn't great for an adult, but for the mindless work we all do, I would half expect it to be a minimum-wage job. I like getting a weekly paycheck. I liked the exciting feeling I had when I first got hired, but the feeling soon changed as there seemed to be no trust or communication from upper management."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You'll love working here if you don't ever have an opinion, are on probation, like low-end, low-class jobs that don't want you to have fun or socialize or talk. It's production grunt work in a warehouse where you breathe in tiny linen microfibers and will soon be coughing and sneezing within the first month. But they won't tell you that; they'll just give you a disposable mask to put on your face all day. If I need to see a doctor for my cough (and I don't smoke), will the company reimburse me for missing work Will the company take responsibility for my health now, or after I've left the company and may still have a coughing symptom"

What don't you like about working at Mission Linen Supply?

"I don't know about other plants around the West Coast, but this place is not too happy a place to work for. Two months ago, they just let about 27 workers go, who were illegal Mexican immigrants that had been with the company ten years or so. The company has like 5 banners on the wall for Best Plant of the Year. Since those workers left, they've hired three whole batches of people. But they didn't tell them they were hired as temporary workers to get the company production quota back up to speed, from losing the 27 illegals. So for weeks there's been this horrible feeling that most of us will get laid off. Morale is down and when workers try to laugh or joke to elevate the mood, we get scolded verbally for making production slow down. Seems as if all they care about is getting another production banner up on the wall. Most workers I know are looking for another job before their ship sinks. Even if a supervisor read this, I doubt they'd care. To add insult to injury, they're bringing in a new plant manager from CA on Monday, and the rumor is already going around that it will be his job to reduce payroll. Veiled threats abound that if we're out of line, it could cost us our full-time jobs. What kind of environment is this to work in all day"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Start acting like you care about your workers. Keep us in the loop. Don't squash people's personalities. Don't hide behind bins spying on workers all day seeing if we're working; it makes us feel you are suspicious and doesn't give us a feeling you trust us to do the job you hired us to do. Management keeps saying that in the Phoenix plant, there's no talking at all. You guys have it good here. Thanks for the encouragement...."

"Mission has a great family culture but archaic technology and management."

What do you like about working at Mission Linen Supply?

"Family atmosphere at Mission is outstanding. Generally speaking the company does care for its individual employees. The company is large enough to be a west coast force, but small enough not to answer to corporate investors."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Mission is a good place to work. The ability to have tough skin is required."

What don't you like about working at Mission Linen Supply?

"Because there is such a family oriented culture the corporate culture is stagnant as a result. Company policies unfortunately pit sales, account management, and service against each other in the acquistion and retention process. There is little to no upward mobility from my current role. Unfortunately, for the first time in my life I have been at odds with my boss mainly due to philosophical differences. This greatly impacts my satisfaction."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management should develop and uniform and clear process for acquiring and retaining customers. Emphasis should be put on getting the most out of each employee's personal style of doing business in the market place instead of conforming to a rigid program that negates market flexibility."
