"Microsoft was an exciting place to work in the 90's."

What do you like about working at Microsoft?

"I was working with some of the best and brightest in the business."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"When presented with whiteboard problems, think out loud as you solve it. They are interested in your thought process as well as the actual answer you come up with. If they take you to lunch, you are doing fine."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They need to become less bottom line oriented and think more about real innovation. Microsoft has never really been a great innovator - what they are REALLY good at is taking a good idea and actually making money with it (embrace and extend). They also need to be less oppressive to other technologies and be more receptive to innovation that does not come from within."
