Working at MHC Truck Leasing in Fort Worth, TX: 1 Employee Reviews

Management Trainee

"It's good, but too good to be true where one can be in for a big surprise."

What do you like about working at MHC Truck Leasing?

"Opportunities are given to learn about the heavy duty truck/transportation business in service, parts, and truck sales. As well as the opportunity to work with some very experienced people in this industry."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you can find a solid position anything besides the management trainee program in this company, go for it."

What don't you like about working at MHC Truck Leasing?

"Despite the fact that the company itself supposedly took pride in offering a management trainee program, the junior and senior level management as well as the staff in HR didn't have much care for the management trainees to ensure there timely completion of the program and their placement at a suitable position after training. For example, after finishing the training program in 8 months with good performance, there were no positions available to be placed anywhere in the company and had to wait 4 months just to get an interview for a position at a another branch. Yes, relocation is a big deal in this company. And at that time, nor the company or the supervisor were willing to create a new position or give an existing open position for me to be placed blaming it on the bad economy and hiring freeze that was taking place. On the other hand, there were other management trainees that got placed at very good positions, especially at the Corporate office in KC MO in which I was not given the opportunity to interview for. Yeah, this company somewhat goes by the Good Old Boy Network."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To be honest with the management trainees hired in this program and not lie in their face about the facts that what good things will happen at the end after finishing the trainee program. Because it seems like there is a possibility that you can get terminated regardless of how well you perform in this program if management doesn't support you. The management trainees should not have to go out on a limb to bat with the branch managers and senior managers for a position. It can just be said that there are some serious ethical issues taking place in this company that should be dealt with. Too much politics."
