"Read the employment contract. It is one sided. Show it to your attorney if you can."

"Old business model, very high employee turnover and management turnover."

"improve the business model... create a win-win model, old business model does not work."

"The firm sponsored me while studying for and acquiring my series 7, 66, L&H and multiple other licenses. In addition, due to the Sr Partners' passion for what they did, it was the best learning experience in how to help clients, and the best way to get to what is on a client's mind. Time management and client management were the highest focus."

"The only tip I have for others is to ensure that there is clarity on both sides (expectations of both parties)."

What don't you like about working at MetLife?

"Unfortunately while a full service brokerage firm, there was always an under-riding push to particular products."

"If an employee comes on board with the desire and assurance of a particular focus, ensure those expectations are met."

"Very proactive, with new retirement products and aggressive marketing programs."

"Not really - just play it straight, and be prepared to wait for a decision. Like many large companies, they do not make decisions quickly."

"They had a last-in, first-out policy for new employees, and I was let go because of it."

"Don't be so quick to reverse hiring decisions made just a few months before. Loyalty is obviously not a two-way street."

"The processes are very well defined and closely governed, but at the same time, have flexibility to fit projects of varying sizes and types."

"Highlight areas of past success and map it to the current job description."

"I am a consultant. There is a general opinion that consultants are temporary. I would like to be treated as a part of the company and not as a temporary resource."

"All workforce, including work done by consultants is a part of the project success. So need to acknowledge it more, even in areas such as PMOs where deliverables are less visible."

"It was such a great environment to work in every day."

"The only that I don't like is that they are laying us off and exiting the lending business."

"I don't have any suggestions for management as we accomplished a lot together."

"Lots of flexibility with telecommuting, very good work life balance. Great boss."

"Entry level jobs are very different from professional jobs. Do not take any entry level job unless you have a specific goal about your next level."

"I don't know that my work matters. I feel very disconnected from the work I do."

"Stop outsourcing operations. Pay real attention to customer service and improve working conditions in all customer service jobs."

"Organizational size, reputation, and the training programs were exceptional aspects of MetLife."

"Cannot think of any. Reason I left was for more compensation and local growth opportunities."

"It was a great workplace and the management staff there was great."

"Too many levels, no promotion, it's more like a job, not career."

"No structure, sometimes too many layers of management to deal with. Too much politics, you have to fit into a click to move up."

"They all left anyway after some major management upheaval in that office."
