"Meridian is a fairly new company in the senior care industry. The company has a lack of direction and is consistently undergoing many staffing and policy changes. The company strives to improve its current policies and patient care procedures. However, constant change makes it difficult to retain staff and improve the company culture. The larger focus on the financial bottom line for its investors overshadows the traditional senior care industry’s core values. Meridian manages about 70 properties. Some of the managed properties are slowly improving while others are overwhelmed and unable to achieve the unrealistic expectations due to lack of resources . Most commonly these underperforming managed communities are understaffing and underfunding for proper and necessary improvements. Furthermore, survey deficiencies, low industry ratings and poor inspection outcomes are limiting admissions and forcing some property owners so seek out alternative management companies."
