What don't you like about working at Mercy Hospital?
"Management for the most part is unwilling to help on the floor and does not take into any consideration the acuity of patients in ratio to staff. All staff hears is about the budget. A law suit will cost the hospital alot more than an extra aide or nurse for a shift here and there. When the hospital president TerrI McClain walks through the hospital and asks how it is going and complaints about being short staff on a very frequent basis and she says oh well, that's healthcare that is not acceptable. I have worked at other facilities and that is NOT the norm."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Listen to your employees. Most of you were working the floor at one time too. I am in upper management now and I llisten to my employees and try to make adjustments. Even if nothing can be done to help the complaints. Management needs to listen."
