What do you like about working at The Academic Advantage?
"Math has always been a passion of mine, and although I have a full time job, I wanted to impart that on students from the same school district I grew up in. I went to orientation and was assigned 6 junior high school math kids. I was shocked to find out that one of my 7th graders couldnt multiply. They say that patience is a virtue, and believe me, I was challenged as to how I could help this student learn something that they should have known since 2nd or 3rd grade. The online curriculum allowed me to show her short videos on multiplication and other techniques that I couldnt have dreamed about. I am thankful for this experience for allowing me to instill my love of math and its ease to others."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"This is a great opportunity to give back to the community. Especially from where I grew up, it was difficult to see how far behind students are in their academics."
What don't you like about working at The Academic Advantage?
"It was time consuming to create curriculum for some of my students. After the first few sessions I was effectively able to see where my students were in terms of their academic level. The curriculum given by the company was helpful because the students were hands on with the programs provided."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I wish we had more time with the students. I was able to complete my hours within a month but my student definitely needed more time. They were really behind in their academics."

What do you like about working at The Academic Advantage?
"I've worked for this company for several years now. Things have improved throughout the years and the company is tutor friendly. They are open to answer any question. There is a long hold time on the phones but once you have someone on the phone you will get an answer."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be patient. Fingerprints take a while to clear. Orientations can feel like a drag. Once you start working as a tutor time will fly."
What don't you like about working at The Academic Advantage?
"Every year we go through training. Sometimes it feels that it's the same thing but policies do change often. I feel like things have gotten a lot better than when I first started."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"If we could have a document for returning tutors that compares and contrasts the differences from the prior year. I've worked here long enough to know what I'm doing."

"The Scope of growth was limited and hence didn't want to pursue it."

"No suggestion, they were working perfectly fine in an organized manner."

"The atmosphere is great, and the management is very flexible."

"If all you want to do is help the children, you will do great."

"I am not the strongest teachers, so I was out of my comfort zone."

"Remember to keep the students as the number one priority."

"You really need to be good at setting goals and accomplishing those goals."

"I didn't like the income that much. It left little opportunity for me to grow."

"The management was great, I don't really have too many suggestions. One thing the management did that I would like to do if chosen for this position is encourage the people that work under me. Encouragement from my supervisor helped me do a better job."

"I loved everything about this job. Only thing that I almost didn't like was checking in mail."

"None, this company was great. The only reason I left was because I graduated."
