What don't you like about working at FedEx?
"I could write a book on what I've put up with over the last 6 yrs. Only reason I've stayed is $$ til I finish school. Their attitude is "if you don't like it, you know where the door is". They figure if you work there, you must be too stupid to work anywhere else. They do nothing to reward to good workers, and everything to promote the worst. I am a good loader/belt picker, and I have trained most of the managers. I have basically worked myself out of any promotion. That and the fact that when they do post a job, they place it somewhere no one can see it, because they already know who they're going to give it to. The only way to get a promotion is to know someone, sleep with someone, or just be an all around a$$hole. The laziest, ghetto-est people get away with doing as little as possible, while the rest of us have to do their share, and nothing is ever said to them. This hub is in the hood, and most of the workers spend most of the shift time jiving it up and doing the least possible. There is a SEVERE inconsistency in the treatment of workers here. The managers only care about the numbers, and "getting the lights out". I fell through a gap between the trailer and bay door because they are too cheap to fix anything, and their safety policy, which they make you sign, basically states, if you get hurt, it's your fault. I have no idea how they pass OSHA inspections."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Several, but they're too stupid to listen.. they only care about working their employees to death to make their nice bonuses. Most of the bosses there are incompetent, but the upper mgmt. could care less. Try to IMPROVE the working conditions and fix the crap that's broke!!! Stop rewarding the worst, laziest, loudmouth, a'holes and promote people who could actually make it a decent place to work."
