Electronics Technician

"The location is the only thing wrong here."

What do you like about working at L.J. Walch?

"Very good pay with bonuses. Constantly challenging projects always keep you learning and busy. Work seems more like a hobby that you enjoy. Family oriented attitude of management. Advancement in pay and projects is regular and substantial."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Military experience is the best to walk in with. The owner and most of management are prior military. They understand that a lack of a college degree due to military service instead does not make you unqualified for a position. When they give you a chance, the rest is up to you."

What don't you like about working at L.J. Walch?

"Location, location, location. The move from San Leandro to Livermore was an improvement. The commute for most employees is pure hell though."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"California is done. Please move the company to Reno NV, and experience a business friendly state. Maybe a branch office"

Electronics Technician

"I enjoyed the work. But unfortunately when incoming work slowed down, you are required to find other work to keep busy. I thought I did. I guess it wasn't enough."

"I've worked for LJ Walch Co for a total of seven years. I started in 1999, for 5 years, left due to work slowing and layoffs, and I returned recently, in 2012. I have great respect and admiration for the people and the company. The environment is family oriented with kind and knowledgeable people. The problem I have is I am not being allowed to work at my full potential as I am stuck in an assembler position with no hope for advancement or transfer to a shop to further utilize my talents."
