"Work hard to move up as fast as you can."
What don't you like about working at United States Coast Guard?
"Organizationally it feels stagnant, at least at the offices I have worked at in the DC area. Also, I am not a fan of the heavy emphasis on homeland security since being integrated into the Dept Of Homeland Security."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would cut back on mission scope and reduce the number of civilian employees.I'd also focus on using free open source software and other cheap but useful tools."

"Knowing what really goes on in the world and being able to change it"

"Consider carefully, don't get trapped in the job. There's other jobs out there"

"Set endless targets but given no freedom to achieve them"

"Recognise that everything is not a priority and concentrate on doing the important things well"

"There are no interviews with the Navy, and all about medical qualification and testing ability."

"Extremely long work hours, on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week."

"To not micro-manage the people that you lead, and recognize achievement."
