"Concentrate on your skills and what you can bring to the company. What puts you at the top of your field and sets you apart from other candidates. Give scenarios and real-life examples that demonstrate these skills."

What don't you like about working at LexisNexis?

"The way they are cutting costs. Multiple reductions in force is putting more work on those that are still there. The fear of losing one's job also puts a lot on someone to produce more and the work is not always at the highest quality. It seems as though not all departments are treated equally anymore."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to my employees and customers. So many times companies are more concerned about the dollar than what makes its employees and customers happy. I hear a lot about the glory days and how the company would show employees how it valued them through incentives and company sponsored events. Put these things back in place to encourage output from your employees and decrease burnout."

"I would look into the longevity of your position with the company and be aware of any aquisitions or layoffs for you in the next few years to come."

"Massive layoffs made to major departments were at first a rumour but became true when"

"to negociate the salary because he won't have any increase."

"The management was really bad. The employees assessments were cheated because they didn't want to increase salaries. Too much competition between services. Duifficulty to start interesting projects. Sales targets were always increased."

"I would make the different services work together and would listen to my coworkers ideas, I would respect deadlines and have a real schedule to achieve"

"Transparency and the support of my manager. The culture was very cohesive."

"None, training we 3months, which gave you ample time to ask questions and learn about the company."

"My job being outsourced, but other than that, nothing comes to mind."

"I cannot really suggest any improvements, LexisNexis was an awesome experience for me."

"They should be more organized on new products and services available in the market."

"The opportunity to learn new research methods, and impliment these methods in teaching students cost effective research methods."

"This company is as much about intellectual capacity to learn, as it is about personality. Treat the interview as you would bringing in a new client to a firm; contained enthusiatic excellence."

What don't you like about working at LexisNexis?

"The opportunities and pay are some what limited, but this position is a in school position. Thus, such limited opportunities is to be expected."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would tell them to focus more on teaching research concepts for applicable statutes. The company does teach this area, but I believe it can be done in a more concise and effective manner."

"The people I worked with were awesome and they made me very happy. the work was occasionally challenging but more from a support side."

"It was a great job, be willing to learn and honest with what you know and your experience. They are willing to teach you all sorts of things, you just have to ask."

"I didn't like being and contractor. Unfortunately there was no way that I would have been hired on full time for the department I was working for."

"Be willing to work with Contractors. They do not get PTO or benefits, be willing to let them work on holidays"

"The development staff have implemented my designs exactly as I've spec'ed them. Fantastic team!!"

"No. The firm is being cut up and sold to other competing firms."

"VC leadership is cutting us up to create saleable portions."

"Focus on our core product and competencies - we have market share - let's use it."

"mid level management have no people skill.internal systems are antiquated"

"Bring in more experienced professional with good people mgmt skils"

What do you like about working at LexisNexis?

"When I started here it was a large company but with a close knit family feel to it. Over the last 5 years that has changed and it is feeling more and more like an average large company. But many of the relationships I have made over the years here are largely what have kept me here."

"It is very common that LexisNexis looks for personality more than skill. They have a strong belief that we can teach you your job, but we cannot teach you to fit in."

What don't you like about working at LexisNexis?

"Our team is to small to allow the level of communication needed to be effective."

"We need to find a balance between team size and communication that makes average work not seam like a hurdle that is slowing us down."
