"At Lexis, pay you very well on the commission side, base salaries are lower than market averages around $28000/year; Lexis made it extremely challenging for field reps by taking solo attorneys away to inside sales group, sold off #1 selling product line (internet marketing) and gave #2 software products back to inside sales group down to only two main product lines: research and litigation software; upper management more interested in pleasing themselves and the shareholders."

The first couple of years they left us alone and it was still good, then the revolving door of the Executives started and the downward spiral began.They took a very high-performing ISV and reduced it to mediocrity through RIF's to offset losses from other products. Later it was topped off by moving the product line offices to another state, losing most of the technical staff along the way."

"Before the joint venture with Internet Brands, Martindale-Hubbell was a fun place to work. The products were sub-par, we charged more than the competition, and we had constant challenges with customer satisfaction. We were unified though. Banding together and bandaging customer solutions, we were able to overcome many of these obstacles to product a productive solution for the clients.Post joint-venture in November '13, it feels like a liquidation with poor communication on direction."

"Job insecurity. Management by need to know philosophy. Competition for remaining jobs."

"Trust your staff. Less micromanagement. Less micromanagement. And way less micromanagement."
