"LEIDOS just split off from SAIC in October 2013. What was once an one of the largest employee owned companies is now a fully public corporation and the transition is still ongoing. The corporate culture is undergoing growing pains as a result of the transition, but there are some really good people employed there."
"I've worked for Leidos (previously known as SAIC) for the last 10 years and it is a great company to work for. There are a lot of opportunities in this company and it is a great place for career development. I would recommend this company to other developers if they are looking for challenging work and a good atmosphere to work in. There are a lot of positions available in the Columbia, MD area, but I'm looking for something closer to home."
"I worked for the company over 10 years and the people were always more of the assets than the management. After it went public it seemed the employee became less important and during/after the company split it became more apparent. Both companies are still capable of good work but it will be harder to differentiate between the rest of the pack in a world of large aquisition based companies."
"I've worked for SAIC/Leido since 2009. The company employs around 44000 people and has many locations across the globe."
"I've worked with LEIDOS (former SAIC) for the last 14 months, after spending time overseas for the 9 years prior. I've enjoyed the role and responsibilities, and have a great rapport with my coworkers and my supervisor. I highly recommend working for LEIDOS, as it is a great envirornment in which to work, as it affords the opportunity to learn and grow while performing one's daily duties."
"Great place and great employees and culture. Once Leidos got them, we lost a lot of benefits like buying/selling out saved up time off and bonuses. There isn't room for advancement since there are only 25 employees, so job titles are pretty much nominal. Pay is definitely above average which was what allures most."
"Good company, hard working and smart co-workers."
"Company is ok. They are starting to forget their employees in place of the investors."
"The contracting company that I work for is excellent. However, the quality of the location where I reside has declined over the past few years due to lack of funds, new management and poor tools and resources."
"I've worked with Leidos (previous SAIC) for over 15 years. It is a fantastic company to work for. However, government funding has been spotty lately, and contracts have not been coming through like they have in prior years."
"There is little to no ability to move upward toward line management starting as a developer. The company has split and is hell-bent on becoming lean for the share holder and therefore all perks like training or company parties have been cut. You'll be lucky to get a 2% annual raise barely keeping up with published inflation."
"The workplace environment is quite nice and we have good modern amenities. The company as a whole has the tendency to fire people in order to save money. While this is sometimes necessary in many industries it seems that an inordinate number of people are leaving/being told to leave and there isn't any more work coming in. Not many proposals are being won and hours can and will be taken from employees to give full coverage to more popular employees."
"They are good to learn things and grow as a company. Resources and budgets are limited."
"I've only been working with my company for a few months but they have not been very organized for those months I've been working. I assume this partly due to me being hired around the holidays."
"Worked at SAIC for over 10 years. Once management at host site changed, no consideration was given for length of time with company. New people with different expertise were moved in and current workers were not given consideration for training."
