Layton Construction Overview

Layton Construction is a major commercial building contractor in North America. Established in 1953 by engineer and World War II veteran Alan Layton, the company initial projects were school buildings. By the 1970s, the company branched into building university sports facilities, hospital buildings, and was a key builder of facilities for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Layton has its corporate headquarters in Sandy, Utah. It currently has many projects underway in as many as 12 states at a time, ranging from health care facilities to performing arts centers, sports facilities and office buildings. The company also builds hotels, resorts, courthouses and prison facilities. At the moment, Layton is the fifth-largest health care contractor in the U.S. This a a good indicator of the company's future, since the sector is expected to grow steadily.
