"Kohl's is a retailer that also writes its own software. It doesn't have a clear focus on what direction it wants to take in IT."

"I don't like being saturated with middle management, making it hard to move up."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"While being an awesome place to work, I'd suggest keeping the internal teams internal and not outsource this wonderful talent, as you'll lose them to other businesses."

"I was hired on the spot for a seasonal position."

What don't you like about working at Kohl's?

"Management doesn't seem to have it totally together. I was told I was being kept after the seasonal period ended, but at the last minute they said they weren't keeping me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get more scheduling/office staff. That way it's easier for the office to stay organized and up to date so that they won't be telling people false information, like they're going to hire you permanently and then last minute tell you otherwise."

"It is a relaxed and friendly work environment, with a good location. There is opportunity to learn and improve on new and exciting technologies."

"Have good communication skills, good troubleshooting skills, knowledge of software and hardware, and ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment."

What don't you like about working at Kohl's?

"There is not a lot of room for advancement, not enough opportunity to learn new technologies and equipment, and there is a long wait time before any advancement opportunity."

"I would suggest more advancement opportunity, better work tools and equipment, and more advanced troubleshooting experience."

"Kohl's Technology has a very particular culture where if you fit in, you're good. There is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow, especially through doing your work. You do end up learning many different aspects of your project because team sizes are small. I would recommend Kohl's to someone who is able to fit in with the culture and is very self motivated and able to learn new things on their own."

"You'll need to stand out from a competency standpoint, as each store literally receives hundreds of applications each month. Dress professionally, and speak to a manager when you first come in."

"The pay was a little low, and variable hours from week to week meant financial instability for many employees."
