"I have worked for this company for more than 15 months. It's horrific in every metric of measure. There is absolutely NO leadership - all Klingspor has are bosses that manipulate and micromanage through threats and intimidation. Another area of inferiority is its tech stack --that is, it essentially has none. The technology it has and uses is easily 10-15-20+ years old. For example, it still uses GoldMine and MapPoint - both of which were retired back in the mid-2000s. Some might say that the "benefits" are okay, but even the benefits package is far down on the scale when compared to other companies of similar size. The worst part (if it could get any worse) is the pay. The pay for the Factory Sales Reps is by far the worst in the entire industry. Do your research. And if you interview with Klingspor, ask active reps. Even the job descriptions have been littered with lies for over a year. Have them show you the "laptop" they give you (they don't). Awful company - horrific culture - and they encourage lies and manipulation."

"Entry level starting sales job, $28,000 salary and company car with everything paid. They have GPS AVL tracking in the cars, and you work out of your home. Very low commissions and no chance to make a lot of money unless the territory has been established for 5 years or more. Sales goals are ridiculous, can't even come close to achieving, and the harder you work, the more work you have to do when you get home at the end of the day."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Go in looking at it as a stepping stone job.It is not a company you want to stay with.Salary way below industry average, you will work long hours more computer reports than selling.They don't worry about sales they worry about what you put into the CRM. Run from this company unless you need a job. I know out of my class maybe one guy is left. Turnover his extremely high for sales representatives. Is it the sales representatives for management."

What don't you like about working at Klingspor Abrasives?

"1. Computer work 2. Paying for company car with gps in it3. So called protect territory only when they want it to be. I sold stuff in my area that due to computer glitch went to other sales people4. National salesmanager only worries about computer numbers not reality and customers see this. Alot of customers do not want to deal with klingspor5. Pay horriable6. Next step up regional manager pays $33,000 wow not worth it7. I made $7,000 over my goal last month and still got thrown to the curb due to I questioned them when someone sold something in my territory which is supose to be protected. Don't ask questions or the National Sales Manager who not from the industry will fire you. Maybe he needs to go due to turnover very high for our industry. I think only person left out of my training class.Oh, yeah you don't get a true vacation time I was actually working taking orders on my vacation time which they charged me back that when I was fired. Its a company that does not care about people. Product ok not as good as 3M they just get you to believe it. Quality control at the mexico converter plant was average to below average. Lost a few accounts due to bad quality control."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"1. Bring quality of the products up that are converted at the plant in Mexico2. Fire National Sales Manager and get a Sales Manager that more worried about sales than computer reporting that is from the industry."
