"If they had not closed their office, I would still be there today."

What do you like about working at Kforce?

"I liked working for a big company. I liked all of the resources they had. The company was well known and engendered trust in the clients. I worked hard and kept long hours and that was respected by my fellow co-workers. They had an excellent training program which was a fantastic gift to people new to the industry. While this may sound weird, I liked that they daily published the call volumes for each person and monthly sales ranking. That gave you goals beyond your personal goals and you were recognized for your accomplishments. I liked the fact that top producers were further recognized (not just with money -- although that is great!) but with a trip to Mexico and awards for your accomplishments. Even the fact that you got two checks (draw and commissions) instead of one check set the high performers apart from the people who were just getting their draw. There was a very, very lucrative bonus structure."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This is a company where you can make a great deal of money -- but it is up to you. You have to be willing to work as hard as you would if it were your own company. You have to do your own marketing, sales, recruiting, follow up and even billing if required. If you are not afraid to work that hard, you will be very well rewarded. If you are, try somewhere more conventional. Be prepared for a long interviewing process. I had 4 interviews and a dinner with the VP before I was offered the job!"

What don't you like about working at Kforce?

"Our department could have been better managed. There were problems with attendance which were ignored. Our boss's attitude was you could work as much as you want. However, if everyone worked 40 hours, there would have been more opportunities for all - splits, add-on sales, etc. It affected my morale but not my sales."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I think that more visible presence of management is important for unity and for morale. Our Vice President only visited once and that was a collection call. Our Manager worked from 10 AM - 4 PM and frequently worked from home. I am not saying that I needed more management -- I did not -- but others did. Eventually, they got fired, but they did more harm than just taking up space while they were there. I feel leading by example is a very, very effective style of management."
