Focus on investing into the few good parts of the business spcifically online, events, and profitabe technological savvy products. Embrace technology and the new school of doing business and cut thru the red tape and bureauracy and simplify procedures so end users can complete tasks without annoying detail that means very little. A complete overhaul is needed as the overall mindset of management needs to change 360 degrees. The Advertising VP seems like a good one and this is a start. The Publisher is at least approachable. However, there are many critical pieces in the Finance and IT Departments at both The Journal News and Gannett Corporate that need to change. I think this will happen but its questionable if The Journal or Gannett will be the place to advertise in the near future especially with their exorbitant advertising rates.
