"I was paid in accordance to my lack of experience working for a company of such magnitude. Freelancing had paid much better in comparison, but did not provide as much experience as Premier Computer Solutions had. What the company provides in terms of a solid foundation in SQL, .NET and Microsoft technology makes up greatly regarding any concerns of underpayment. Provided I were to choose a first company to work for again, I would select based on experience over salary."

"For one, it's not always about money. My health and employment satisfaction (enjoying my job) are key. Working for Northrop, I've seen contracts. I understand what the government is getting billed. I also can do the math to figure out how much I'm valued at. As an engineer I feel I am an important asset to any project. And to potential projects. I find it important for my employer to reward me for my hard work. I too understand the company needs to make a profit."

"I feel at my level of expertise that I am getting paid fairly. My goal is to learn more so I can move up the pay scale. As of right now, I am happy with what I am getting, and I am able to give my family the future that I so dreamed of. I am excited to learn as much as I can in this field."
+$14K (17%) more than average Northrop Grumman Software Engineer salary ($71K)
"The pay at Northrop is decent but I dislike the fact that young individuals get half as much as the senior engineers with less knowledge. Just because they have been at the company for 20 years doesn't make them good at their jobs. The workforce has changed and young folk coming out of college know a lot more now then they did 20 years ago."

Not only is my salary lower than the typical average, but the first 5 hours of overtime is unpaid (referred to as the 5 hour gate), every hour after that is only straight time.
