Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP, an international law firm, is actively recruiting a Client Accounting Specialist. This position oversees the automation and implementation of electronic billing and performs matter management functions for the Firm's clients. Provides technical and procedural assistance to lawyers and Client Accounting with regard to electronic billing. Ensures electronic billing inventory is accurate, compliant and processed timely per firm and client guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Leads, coordinates and oversees e-billing implementation firmwide. Ensures complete and timely implementation of electronic billing.

  2. Implements and oversees all matter-management and timekeeper-management functions as required by the client and/or e-billing vendor.

  3. Oversees electronic client bill processing through various e-billing vendors and verifies account postings. Ensures all electronic bills comply with client guidelines and firm policies.

  4. Provides training to billing staff regarding electronic billing and related functions if needed.

  5. Develops materials for and provides e-billing training and assistance to client billing staff firmwide.

  6. Reviews, corrects and processes invoice rejections.

  7. Assists Client Accounting with appeals, and resubmissions.

  8. Performs analysis of electronic billing processes, including which matters are being e-billed, the amount of billings being produced by e-bills, and the costs associated with electronic billing and recommends modifications to e-billing processes to enhance efficiencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in law firm client accounting and related activities. Experience in developing and processing electronic bills or payments preferred. Familiarity with law firm accounting systems, billing practices and procedures required. Exceptional skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required. Knowledge of other personal computer based productivity and presentation tools is required. Strong internet, word processing, database and spreadsheet software skills (i.e. Internet Explorer, Word, Access, Excel) required.

Other Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described above. Examples include: ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, problem-solving, excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to prioritize workload and adapt to changing conditions. Visual acuity needed for transcription, extensive reading and input (typing) of information into computer. Ability to receive and convey detailed information through oral communication. Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning and memory. Excellent communication and people-oriented skills; strong organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and meet stringent deadlines required.
