Information about Agilent is available at .Agilent's rapidly growing Microplates portfolio comprises standard microplate products which are used across all of Agilent's end market segments as well as a significant OEM microplates business which serves some of the world's largest life sciences companies. In addition, the microplates portfolio supports unique, enabling, and class leading technologies for real-time, live cell analysis (microplate consumables used with Agilent Seahorse XF technology and BioTek plate readers) in academic, pharma/drug discovery and immune cell therapy development markets. For these reasons, this portion of the business has a significant amount of visibility to the senior management team including C level staff and their reports. The Microplates Product Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of ~200 highly profitable standard products sold into all Agilent end market segments including Cell Analysis, as well as a large OEM business which includes customized microplate products. The role is responsible for new product launches via Agilent's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process, forecasting, collateral creation, collaborating with R&D and commercial teams across Agilent and within product line, ecommerce growth via Microplates products, advocate development, definition of market strategy, product positioning, and monitoring growth conditions and targets. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to expand on the rapid growth of this business. You will achieve this in part by partnering with our existing product management team, other Agilent Cell Analysis product lines (e.g. BioTek and Acea acquisitions), and product lines across Agilent (outside of Cell Analysis). You will work closely with Agilent's OEM customers, field product specialists, product management colleagues, R&D scientists and engineers, Marketing, Sales, and business unit management teams to support the commercial success of the portfolio. Successful Product Managers come from a wide range of backgrounds such as Sales, Marketing, Research, or Technical Support. No matter the background, this job will involve the following: Development and rationalization of the existing portfolio and expansion strategy based on market opportunities. Presentation to senior management to build the case for investment opportunities. Commercial product development activities and the launch of new products, forecasting, reporting on progress, and the translation of VOC/voice of field into product development strategy. Working with technical leads to develop standard validation procedures for new and existing products. Management of existing product line content and development of additional compelling content to support incremental revenue and market segment penetration. Collaboration with other Agilent divisions to incorporate and recommend microplates and plastic consumables on all Agilent equipment which can use products from this portfolio. Development of internal and external champions to promote Agilent microplates. Provision of technical training to Sales channel and support personnel. Monitoring and management of sales data, gross margin, operating margin, and COGS. Ensuring sufficient manufacturing supply capacity via strong working relationship with manufacturing management team and materials suppliers. Maintenance of product pricing on the Corporate Price List (CPL). Definition of marketing strategy, including product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. Monitoring competition and reporting on market size, conditions, and growth targets. Establishing proficiency on PLM processes which guide products throughout the entire lifecycle from concept to launch to end of production and obsolescence. Management of a portfolio of products at all stages of the lifecycle including new product introductions, in-market products, obsolescence of products. Partnering with Marketing Communications for deployment and delivery of marketing content in a variety of forms (written, recorded, live presentation) for deployment across a number of digital marketing communication channels, Responsibility for product information management system (PIM) on the portfolio. The successful candidate will have: Masters or PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology or Biochemistry with at least 7 years of customer support, sales, or marketing related experience with microplate consumables OR a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of related experience. Detailed extensive knowledge of industry workflows, applications, and needs related to microplate products Experience delivering product messaging to customers and or sales or support staff Proven efficiency working in cross functional teams, both local and remote, with demonstrated ability to communicate product strategy, driving partners to shared vision and goals. Solid analytical reasoning, and the ability to make complex business and product marketing decisions Demonstrated ability to gather, collate, interpret, present, and use VOC/voice of field/market data to grow consumables (ideally microplate/plastics) portfolio High level of proficiency with product development processes and systems (ideally Agile PLC) via successful product development and launches Excellent communication skills for written, verbal, and live presentations Ability to convey technical information at the appropriate level of detail depending on the context (e.g. published collateral, conference presentations, sales training material, management reviews) Ability to travel approximately 25%, including international travel This position is ideally located in Lexington, Massachusetts.
