Position Summary:
Rosies Recovery Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT) to join our Substance Use Disorder team. The ADT will support clients struggling with substance use disorders through counseling, education, and case management under supervision, while working toward full certification.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions under supervision for clients with substance use disorders
- Assist with intake assessments and treatment planning
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and coping skills
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes
- Participate in treatment team meetings and supervision
- Provide referrals to internal and external support services
- Ensure client confidentiality and adhere to ethical practice standards as outlined in HIPAA and COMAR regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid and active Alcohol and Drug Trainee status through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's in Human Services preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends
- Passion for supporting individuals in recovery
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of 12-step or recovery support models
