Job Description

Infosys is looking for a Grocery Retail Expert and Principal Consultant to support our growing Grocery portfolio. In this role, you will act as the bridge between client stakeholders, business teams and engineering squads to shape and deliver digital products that transform Grocery retail operations, enhance customer experience, and drive business performance.You will be responsible for capturing business needs, defining the product roadmap, and collaborating with cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle. You will play a critical role in defining product strategy, value realization and continuous delivery.You will be part of a learning culture, where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged, excellence is rewarded, and diversity is respected and valued.

Candidate must be located within the commuting distance of Hartford, CTor be willing to relocate to this location.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 11 years of experience with Information Technology.

  • Strong experienceas a Product Owner or in Product Management role in Agile environments.
  • Proven years of experience working with Grocery clients, preferably in areas such as merchandising, assortment and allocation planning, pricing and promotions, store operations including POS, sourcing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain
  • Hands-on experience in Agile frameworks (Scrum/SAFe) – responsible for backlog grooming, epic/story creation, prioritization, and sprint planning.
  • Strong understanding of customer journeys, business KPIs, and product metrics.
  • Proven ability to create feature roadmaps, MVP plans and collaborate with engineering/design teams to ship high-impact solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact with both business and technical teams.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional alignment in a fast-paced, iterative product development environment.
PreferredQualifications:
  • Knowledge of integration platforms, EDI, and API-led architecture
  • Experience in data-driven decision making – A/B testing, customer behavior analytics, etc.
  • Exposure to design thinking and user-centric product development.
  • Familiarity with DevOps or CI/CD environments for faster product rollouts.
  • Experience in vendor collaboration or multi-stakeholder ecosystems
  • Comfortable with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Figma, or other collaboration/productivity tools.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites occasionally, as per business need.
Responsibilities and are not limited to:
  • Act as voice of the customer, ensuring features and enhancements align with business needs and user pain points.
  • Own and manage the product backlog – writing user stories, defining acceptance criteria and prioritizing based on value.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, engineers, QA and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to define product roadmaps, OKRs and success metrics.
  • Ensure timely delivery of product increments through sprints/releases and validate outcomes against KPIs.
  • Participate in sprint planning, demos, retrospectives and act as the liaison between business and tech teams.
  • Constantly look for ways to innovate, optimize and evolve the product to meet changing customer and market demands.
The job entails extensive amount of travel. The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face.
