Spray Booth Operator, Weekend Program
Are you interested in working hours on just Friday, Saturday and Sunday and earn fulltime benefits? We are looking to staff a weekend program, where the team will work 12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This position comes with full-time benefits and double time pay on Sunday. Perfect way to consolidate your work week!
This position is in our Thermal Spray Technologies business (TST). Under the guidance and supervision of the spray booth lead, the successful candidate will work with product engineers, engineers, R&D staff, and other production personnel. As a part of the Flame team, you will be required to work with heavy equipment, machinery, and parts while meeting high quality standards and production rates. Working in Flame can be gritty and dusty, however we pride ourselves on strict 5S procedures to maintain a clean working environment and 100% safety at all times to ensure an incident free production rate.
You can expect to:
- Assist in the operation of thermal spray systems and other components to process customer product (generally parts for the agricultural industry) in a safe and efficient manner
- Produce high quality products without rework, meeting production and customer schedules
- Work in cell team environment with two booths among a team of 2-4 colleagues
- Conduct all operations required for completion of the jobs (Grit Blast, masking, etc.) and suggest improvements to run the booths more efficiently
- Team member will rotate with the other team members; rotations include spraying parts, pre-grit blasting, post-blasting over spray and smoke, cutting and polishing, and using a computer program to measure roughness of the parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Team member must be able to work in a warm and dusty area to set up production, spray parts on either booth (parts can be 20-50 pounds), hang parts on racks, etc.
- Must be able to work on your feet for 10 hours, lift at least 50 pounds throughout the entire shift, and wear a respirator while performing various procedures
- Able to do math, read parameter sheets, perform basic computer skills to use 3D programming, and solve and troubleshoot problems quickly to keep production moving forward to make rates
- Use 3D profiler room, programming to check for quality, laser measures the quality of the parts
- Execute tasks and responsibilities as required by the Quality System and ISO 9000 requirements
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete Quality and Process documentation

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrates strong technical skills
- Ability to read and understand instructions and apply job requirements to ensure quality
- Ability to read, write, and communicate English effectively
- Adept with basic mathematics
- Ability to keep detailed records regarding processes, procedures, inventory, etc.
- Ability to analyze difficult situations, quickly solve problems, and comply with production standards
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere and in individual situations
- Ability to operate equipment and machinery in a safe manner
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds every day
- Ability to stand for long periods of time (10 hour shifts) and move heavy products
- Ability to work quickly and swiftly with large, heavy machinery and products
- Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (earplugs, safety glasses, respirator) at all times
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in troubleshooting problems to rapidly obtain successful outcomes
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Windows)
- Ability to work well with personnel from all levels in all functions of the organization
