Furniture Specialist – Multifamily Interiors
Reports To: Design Director / Senior Project Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and design-savvy Furniture Specialist to join our interior design team focused on multifamily properties across the U.S. This role is essential to executing thoughtful, durable, and design-forward furniture packages for leasing offices, model units, and amenity spaces. Candidates should bring a strong understanding of procurement processes, CAD drafting, and multifamily design standards, with hands-on experience overseeing installations and final punch-out walkthroughs.
Location & Work Environment
While we collaborate with teams and clients nationwide, candidates based in Richmond, VA are preferred. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for a mix of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. Some travel will be required for site visits and installations.

Key Responsibilities
Furniture Procurement & Specification
- Source and specify commercial-grade furniture and soft goods
- Ensure selections align with budget, design intent, and durability standards
- Generate and maintain detailed FF&E spec sheets and procurement logs
Vendor & Supplier Coordination
- Manage communication with reps and manufacturers
- Negotiate pricing and lead times
- Ensure timely production, shipment, and delivery of furnishings
CAD & Documentation Support
- Produce and revise furniture plans and layouts in AutoCAD
- Coordinate shop drawings and space planning with the design team
- Maintain accurate floorplans reflecting current selections
Installation & Field Oversight
- Coordinate white-glove delivery and installation schedules
- Conduct detailed punch walks, identifying damages or deficiencies
- Communicate solutions with vendors and ensure project completion
Budget & Project Management
- Create and track budgets for all FF&E scopes
- Provide value-engineering options as needed
- Keep all stakeholders informed of procurement status
Logistics & Scheduling
- Coordinate multi-phase deliveries across multiple buildings
- Work directly with contractors and property managers on-site logistics

Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in furniture procurement or interior design
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit/SketchUp a plus)
- Knowledge of multifamily/hospitality furniture standards and contract-grade products
- Experience managing onsite installations and punch-out processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and procurement platforms
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel for site visits and installations

Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- Experience in large-scale multifamily, hospitality, or commercial design
- Familiarity with ADA, code compliance, and high-traffic furniture requirements
