Job Description:
Home Health & Hospice Central Intake - SC is currently seeking experienced Full-Time Location Authorization Specialist for our Home Health & Hospice Central Intake covering ALL SC. This person will be responsible for payer verification and requesting authorizations for services from Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies in a timely and accurate manner.Verifies insurance for all patient payers.Contacts insurance companies and obtains authorization for home health services in a timely and accurate manner for payers requiring authorization.Runs the authorization expiration report on a daily basis.Assist the billing department with researching denials. Qualifications and Skills:High School Diploma or GED required.1-2 years of customer service/medical billing/collections experience required. Home health experience preferred.Thorough and working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial billing regulations and requirements.Experience with the technical aspects of electronic medical billing.
