The Payroll Administrator processes payroll and manages all payroll related data entry, including maintaining time punches, compensation, deductions, leave administration, and timekeeping for all associates paid on a weekly basis, while ensuring strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Essential Job Functions
- Process payroll in a time manner while ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Checks time punches for all hourly associates on a daily basis, to ensure data is being recorded correctly; makes corrections as necessary
- Ensures employees' department assignments are properly reflected in payroll
- Maintains time-and-attendance and vacation-time records for all YCR associates (paid weekly)
- Creates payroll record for new employees, and enters or verifies benefit info for newly eligible employees
- Assists employees with payroll concerns as needed
- Filing of employee documents and maintains accurate records
- Scanning of employee documents during transition to HRIS system
- Assists in tracking employee performance, particularly regarding attendance and punctuality
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Sort and distribute paychecks
- Submits requested documentation for Workers Comp claims
Skills/Experience/Training Required
- Associate's degree in finance or accounting preferred
- Experience with payroll systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Working knowledge of modern office procedures, practices and equipment, including the use of computers
- Ability to work well with a team
- Ability to learn new skills quickly
