Job Responsibilities
- The Registered Nurse (RN) completes the initial, comprehensive and ongoing assessments of patients and family to determine hospice needs.
- Assesses and evaluates patients status, admissions, deaths, falls, or revocations.
- Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions.
- Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures.
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician in the physicians plan of care.
- Provides health care instructions to the patient as appropriate per assessment and plan.
- Ensure proper timely documentation and reporting to the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements:
Nevada License/Certification
- Registered Nurse (Preferred): Bachelor's Degree 3 years hospice experience, 1 year supervisory experience OR LPN: 4 years experience with hospice, 1 year supervisory experience
- CPR Certification
- Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
- Current 2 step TB test; or equivalent
- Health Exam/ Physical
Minimum Qualifications:
- Management experience is not required. Responsible for supervising hospice aides.
- Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
- Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position and/or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping bending, kneeling and/or crouching. Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills.
