Job Title: Tax Attorney - State and Local Tax (SALT)

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Tax Attorney with a strong background in State and Local Tax (SALT) to join our growing legal and tax advisory team. This role involves providing sophisticated legal analysis, strategy, and support on a wide range of SALT matters including income, franchise, sales/use, property, and other indirect taxes. You'll play a critical role in advising clients and stakeholders on multistate tax issues, compliance, controversy, and planning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on state and local tax matters.
Analyze tax laws and regulations across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.
Support clients or internal stakeholders with audits, appeals, litigation, and voluntary disclosures.
Draft legal memoranda, tax opinions, and client correspondence.
Monitor legislative developments and regulatory changes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and compliance.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing as a tax attorney with a focus on SALT.
Experience with multistate tax compliance, planning, and controversy work.
