The IT Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing strategic planning, project intake, governance, and execution tracking across a portfolio of IT initiatives. This role partners with business and technology leaders to drive visibility, alignment, and delivery of key programs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the intake and evaluation process for new project and funding requests. Guide IT leaders and project managers through business case creation, submission procedures, and approval workflows.
  • Partner with portfolio sponsors on annual planning activities, including initiative prioritization, scenario analysis, and identifying strategic trade-offs. Assist in the development of high-level roadmaps and performance targets.
  • Monitor the health of in-flight projects by tracking milestones, financial performance, risks, and key accomplishments.
  • Facilitate monthly portfolio review meetings to support informed decision-making around scope, schedule, and funding.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level materials for monthly leadership updates, aligning messaging with business priorities.
  • Coordinate quarterly IT Steering Board meetings by consolidating inputs from leadership, managing meeting logistics, and capturing key actions and decisions.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT portfolio, program, or project management.
  • Deep knowledge of IT governance processes, strategic planning, and project intake methodologies.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence across cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create clear, compelling executive-level presentations.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in portfolio management tools such as Planview, Smartsheet, or Clarity.
  • Experienced in facilitating meetings, driving collaboration, and managing stakeholder expectations.


ITR Group offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and 401(k) for eligible employees. The W2 pay range for this type of role is approximately $50.00 - $60.00 per billable hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee of compensation.
