School Speech and Language Pathologist | Birmingham, Alabama

Minimum 1+ years speech therapy experience required.

A full-time School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 20252026 school year in a K-12 school setting located in Birmingham, Alabama. This contract role offers an opportunity to support students in developing their communication skills through comprehensive speech-language therapy.

Responsibilities include conducting evaluations and providing therapy for students with speech, language, voice, or fluency disorders. You will design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs, collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state regulations. Active participation in IEP meetings and contribution as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential.

Qualifications sought for this role include:

Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Valid Alabama SLP licensure or eligibility
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows will receive mentorship and support
Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) must hold current Alabama licensure
Genuine passion for working with school-aged children and promoting their communication development
