PSYCHOLOGIST POSITION SUMMARY

Under the guidance of the Regional Mental Health Director and Chief Psychologist, the Psychologists will:

Provide intensive evidence-based individual and/or group therapy and crisis intervention for incarcerated individuals experiencing severe mental health crises (i.e., psychosis, suicidality, self-injurious behaviors, delusions, trauma, etc.).
Develop and implement specialized treatment and/or behavioral management plans for high-risk individuals with severe mental illness.
Engage in administrative duties including writing clinical reports and participating in meetings.
Train MDOC and VCHS staff on managing mental health crises, de-escalation techniques, and suicide prevention.
Perform in-depth psychological evaluations of individuals presenting with acute psychosis, severe mood disorders, or active suicidal ideation.
Psychologists will administer evidence-based suicide risk evaluations/assessment/protocol.
Collaborate with and engage in consultation with psychiatrists and other licensed mental health professionals.
Engage in other clinical activities as designated by the Regional Behavior Health Director and Chief Psychologist.
Pay based on Licensure and years of experience

Must be licensed or license-eligible in the state of Mississippi or able and willing to get their License in Mississippi
