Who You Are:
We seek a candidate with a strong positive attitude toward customer service to act as an Activity Assistant in our Skilled Nursing and Rehab building. This position could be your dream job! As an activity assistant, you will be responsible for aiding in the planning, organizing, and executing of therapeutic activity-based programs for the residents. Responsibilities:
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Responsible for conducting daily group programs and individual activities that are goal oriented and person appropriate that meets the Village Care Center and Department of Health and Senior Services regulations.
- Follow the daily schedule of activities and beginning and ending in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident group attendance and individual participation level.
- Report noticeable changes in resident's participation and behavior to the Activity Director.
- Assist with publishing, preparing and distributing the monthly activity calendar and community newsletter.
- Design, publish and distribute the community daily flyer and weekend flyer.
- Perform and direct the movement of residents to and from recreational areas.
- Assist, guide and supervise volunteers as assigned by the Activity Director.
- Coordinate relationships with agencies, organizations, schools and entertainers that provide activities for the residents.
Job Requirements:
- A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- One year of experience in social and recreational programs in a licensed senior living facility.
- Capability to work closely with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisors, and peers. Requires courtesy, tact, and grace.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English, performing basic arithmetic, and following written or oral instructions in English.
- Commitment to cleanliness and safety.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a keen attention to detail .
