Job Details

Responsibilities:

As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Supervising and managing the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, etc.
2. Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
3. Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
4. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
5. Provide recommendations to improve systems and financial performance.
6. Develop and manage financial systems and policies.
7. Engage with the senior management team to develop short, medium, and long-term financial plans and projections.
8. Representing the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, auditors, public officials, etc.
9. Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
10. Overseeing the company’s financial systems and budget preparation.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree would be considered an asset.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the real estate or retail sectors.
3. Proficiency in accounting software. Experience with Yardi and JD Edwards is highly desirable.
4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
6. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
7. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
8. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
9. Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
