The Manager III, Field Service Engineer (Dry Etch) leads and manages technical service teams focused on dry etch technology, overseeing service agreements, system startups, and operational performance metrics. They ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating weekly meetings, managing KPIs, and driving continuous quality improvements while adhering to corporate standards and safety practices. This role involves hiring, training, and developing engineers, managing inventories and escalations, and collaborating across departments to maintain high system uptime and operational efficiency.

Forecasts financial, manpower, and operational requirements for key businesses (start up, warranty, service agreements, paid service). Identifies and pursues service agreement business in conjunction with marketing and sales. Manage Applied KPI performance, includingCustomer Acceptance Report(CAR) cycle time, clean desk, reporting hours, Utilization%, Over Time%, Parts Confirmation (TES), parts return, etc.

Manages start ups in terms of time and cost requirements. Manages local inventories and RMA procedure. Maintains DSO according to goal. Manages systems start up and warranty, Comprehensive Service Agreement (CSA), and Total Kit Management (TKM) cost under reserve.

Prepare and host weekly meetings with the customer to ensure customer satisfaction with Company service and system performance.

Interviews, hires, and trains customer engineers as necessary to ensure theymeet tsmc's expectation andsupport regional business.

Ensures employee satisfaction through:

  • Communication of business progress and all related action.

  • Setting goals and controlling achievements.

  • Establishing training and career development plans.

Ensures the appropriate safety practices among customer engineers. Develop CE skills. Spots and develops managerial/other specialist talent. Ensures employee satisfaction through:

Escalates system downs according to valid escalation procedure, to ensure earliest possible return to service. Reports in a timely and accurate manner as required.

Achieves guaranteed up time and other parameters as sold to customers.

Understand Etch technique issue. Prepare and host regular internal meetings with various function groups to discuss tool uptime, critical issue and action plan, and update/discuss/align with customer.

Understand and meet Applied's Vision, Mission, Value and tsmc expectations, quick response, and technique oriented discussion.

Promotes quality improvement processes to:

  • Reduce cycle time

  • Drive continuous improvement of technical performance

  • Empower the work force

Functional Knowledge

  • 3 plus years of hands on DRY ETCH Technical experience highly preferred

  • Demonstrates in-depth understanding of concepts, theories and principles in own job family and basic knowledge of other related job families

U.S. Salary Range:

$88,000.00 - $121,000.00

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, theposted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
