Job Overview – Tax Director (Family Office):
Play a pivotal role in shaping our client’s financial strategies as a Tax Director in Stamford, CT. This hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-level tax advisory services to high-net-worth families and partnerships, while leading strategic initiatives and driving innovation within the firm. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering value to clients and fostering team development.

Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday(Hybrid)


Responsibilities as the Tax Director:

  • Tax Strategy & Advisory: Lead the development of strategic tax plans for complex partnership structures, focusing on tax-efficient income allocation, basis adjustments, and planning for partnership formations, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Client Guidance: Provide clients with forward-thinking insights to minimize tax burdens and maximize financial outcomes.
  • Research & Innovation: Conduct proactive research on emerging tax strategies, introducing innovative solutions to the firm and clients.
  • Partnership Tax Lifecycle Management: Advise on transaction calculations, partner economics, and tax distributions throughout the partnership lifecycle.
  • Leadership & Development: Mentor and supervise associates and senior associates, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
  • Specialized Expertise: Act as a subject-matter authority in specialized tax areas (e.g., corporate, international, pass-through, or R&D tax benefits).
Qualifications for the Tax Director:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Enrolled Agent, or J.D./LL.M. are highly preferred).
  • Certification:CPA certification is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Partnership Tax experience, ideally with high-net-worth individuals and families, and recent experience in an accounting firm focusing on federal and state tax compliance.
  • Skills: Demonstrates advanced technical aptitude, critical thinking, and proficiency in MS Office and tax reporting software.
  • Attributes: Strong communication skills to articulate complex information, a commitment to quality service, and a proactive, innovative mindset.
