Job Summary
A well-established pathology group (or hospital/laboratory) in the Northeast is seeking a board-certified (or board-eligible)Surgical Pathologistto join our dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in general surgical pathology with additional fellowship training or subspecialty expertise preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and sign out surgical pathology cases across a broad range of organ systems
- Provide intraoperative consultations (frozen sections) and gross examination oversight
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and clinical conferences
- Collaborate with fellow pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnoses
- Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, and institutional quality standards
- Participate in quality assurance, continuing education, and peer review activities
- (If academic): Contribute to teaching of residents, fellows, or medical students
- (Optional): Engage in research or scholarly activity
Qualifications
- MD or DO with AP or AP/CP board certification (or eligibility)
- Completion of an accredited residency in pathology
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty (e.g., GI, GYN, breast, head and neck, or cytopathology) is a plus
- Eligible for medical licensure in the applicable Northeastern state
- Excellent diagnostic, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and collaborative team practice

- Experience in a busy surgical pathology service
- Interest in contributing to continuous improvement and lab operations
- Ability to manage workload efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
