Job Description:

The EHS Specialist will lead initiatives that promote and ensure a safe and compliant workplace across all operational areas. The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental, health, and safety policies in line with regulatory standards and internal goals. You will work cross-functionally to enhance a culture of safety and manage compliance programs, audits, and training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce EHS procedures that align with local, state, and federal laws
  • Conduct audits, site inspections, and risk assessments to identify safety hazards and drive improvements
  • Lead emergency response planning and drills
  • Manage environmental permits and regulatory documentation
  • Oversee ESG reporting and environmental compliance programs
  • Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Deliver safety training programs to ensure staff awareness and compliance
  • Maintain accurate records for incidents, audits, and regulatory reporting
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure safe work practices and policies are upheld
  • Coordinate waste disposal and pollution control efforts
  • Serve as the main contact for regulatory agencies and compliance inquiries
  • Guide safety committee initiatives and lead continuous improvement projects
  • Oversee Workers’ Compensation claims and return-to-work processes
  • Ensure proper usage and availability of PPE across the facility
  • Monitor contractor compliance with company safety standards

Qualifications:

Must have- Tier II chemical inventory reporting, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) planning, air emissions permitting and monitoring, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) implementation, and storm water management.
