Responsibilities of the Property Accountant:
- Responsible for monthly accounting for a portfolio of properties both on the commercial and residential side.
- Day-to-day accounting and month end responsibilities which include bank reconciliations, booking accruals, tying out balance sheet accounts.
- File personal property declarations, income and expense filings with the towns.
- Ensure property and real estate taxes are paid timely.
- Assist with the budget.
- Assist with external audit for certain assigned properties.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Desired Qualities and Qualifications of the Property Accountant:
- BS in Accounting.
- Real estate/property accounting experience either in industry or working with real estate clients in public accounting.
