IT Production Systems SR Engineer
The ideal candidate will participate as a member of the client's NOES Project Team as a resource for implementing a production system for a new facility for producing non-grain oriented electrical steel.
This candidate will join a project team launching the 800,000+ square foot facility, interact with existing team resources, participate in commissioning the plant, and assist the team in launching production successfully.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY/PURPOSE OF POSITION:
• Support the implementation of production systems and work with end users and other functional analysts/developers to support development and maintenance of information systems including manufacturing execution system (MES), production planning/scheduling, quality/lab management and other supporting applications.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Involved in all phases of the life cycle implementation including blueprinting, mapping, prototype, design, configuration, testing, go-live, and user training
• Work well in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively and appropriately with other developers working in the same code base as well as team members and vendors both internal to AM/NS and external.
• Coordinate and instruct user acceptance testing procedures with both functional analysts in the Production Systems team and end users of our developed solutions.
• Conduct code review to maintain code standards within the team as well as participate in review of your own code.
• Review existing code for bad design architecture and security flaws.
• Work well in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively and appropriately with other developers working in the same code base as well as team members and vendors both internal to AM/NS and external.
• Coordinate and instruct user acceptance testing procedures with both functional analysts in the Production Systems team and end users of our developed solutions.
• Conduct administration, development, technical support, and deployment of MES as well as other software required by production and operations systems.
• Provide software configuration and customization including, but not limited to: screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, custom scripting and third-party software integrations

EDUCATION, ACCREDITATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, other technical field, or 5-10 years of experience in a technical role
• 5-10 years of experience in IT/Software Development
• Full software development lifecycle experience
• Experience with TFS, SDLC, source code management, warehouse management, middleware systems
• Process manufacturing industry experience preferred
• Experience with electric arc furnace, production planning, or quality systems preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
• 5-10 years of experience in IT/Software Development
• C#, C++, PL/SQL, XML, XSLT, Java, Javascript, TFS, Resharper, and Shell script experience
• Full software development lifecycle experience
• Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
• Proficiency with relational database design (Oracle or SQL Server preferred)
• Agile methodology familiarity
• Exceptional critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills
• Capable of analyzing technical information and quickly learning new technical skills
• Demonstrates strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Able to competently handle a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
