Your Role at Allison
As an Area Sales Manager, you'll drive Allison Transmission's market share and product preference within your assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR). You'll work directly with customers, channel partners, and internal teams to build strong relationships, identify sales opportunities, and deliver an exceptional customer experience rooted in value and technical expertise.
Area Sales Manager Responsibilities
In this role, you will grow Allison's presence across key markets by combining technical insight, consultative selling, and strategic engagement while delivering measurable impact on pipeline development, account growth, and channel partner success.
Develop and manage customer and channel partner relationships to increase Allison's market share within your Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue sales opportunities, new business, and existing account retention while maintaining a healthy opportunity pipeline.
Deliver a value-based, consultative sales approach highlighting Allison's technical advantages, aftermarket support, and total cost of ownership.
Coordinate internally across marketing, engineering, customer support, and aftermarket teams to create a seamless and informed customer experience.
Provide product and sales training, driver familiarization, and technical support to OEM dealers, fleet customers, and channel partners.
Engage with executive-level stakeholders at key customer and partner organizations to deepen relationships and strengthen business alignment.
Represent Allison at trade shows, OEM meetings, and industry events to facilitate brand visibility and expand your network.
Execute sales strategies aligned to programs and initiatives within your territory, tracking activity and progress using CRM tools like Salesforce.
Contribute to team knowledge-sharing and internal cross-functional collaboration to support strategic sales development across the organization.
What You Bring to the Team
You're a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who thrives in consultative selling environments. You think strategically, communicate clearly, and bring technical and commercial insight to every opportunity. You work well independently but collaborate seamlessly across teams to meet shared goals and deliver results.
Required
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of industry experience
Experience presenting both technical and commercial aspects of business solutions.
Ability to travel regularly: ~2-3 days/week within AOR and ~3-4 days/quarter outside AOR (e.g., headquarters or other locations).
Preferred
Experience in B2B sales within the commercial vehicle, OEM, components, or service provider space.
Background in value-based selling.
Experience working with Salesforce CRM.
