This position is responsible for providing clerical support for department operations.
Major Duties
- Processes and distributes incoming mail.
- Delivers mail to the Post Office.
- Verifies taxpayer motor vehicle insurance.
- Types, files, sorts, faxes, copies, and prints documents.
- Monitors lobby and directs taxpayers to available tellers.
- Keeps computerized records of handicap plate and placard applications.
- Receives and signs for merchandise ordered.
- Assists customers in replacing vehicle registration stickers and license plates.
- Assists with the printing of tax statements.
- Assists with stamping and mailing tax statements.
- Assists with inventory control.
- Assists in hauling, sorting, and stacking boxes.
- Retrieves old documents for research purposes.
- Shreds documents as appropriate.
- Sorts license plate inventory.
- Serves as Passport Agent as needed.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one ( 1 ) year of clerical work experience.
- Must be able to type at least 30 wpm.

- Skill in the use of standard office equipment.

Valid Texas Driver's License*
- If the applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver's License must be obtained prior to employment.
