Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Director of Revenue Cycle will lead the patient business operations to establish departmental strategic objectives, ensure adherence to quality standards and billing metrics to improve overall cash flow.

This role will have accountability for projects impacting front end registration processes, insurance verifications, scheduling and authorizations, coding, billing, and collections. This position requires a thorough understanding of the accounts receivables process, and specifically, knowledge of the billing and collection process and compliance with regulatory requirements related to these departments. The role will require substantial organization and attention to detail backed by solid analytical skills.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field required, advanced degree preferred

  • HFMA leadership certification preferred

Knowledge:

  • 8+ years' experience managing the revenue cycle of a healthcare organization of similar size required.

  • 10 years progressive industry experience required.

  • Knowledge of receivables software, billing platforms and EHR systems.

  • Knowledge of EPIC system in shared environment (preferred)

  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations.

  • Knowledge of government and commercial payer regulations for Rural Hospitals.

  • Knowledge of billing and collections protocols for professional fee and facility fee billing.

  • Knowledge and handling of protected health information in a manner consistent with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

Skills:

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to work with departments throughout the organization to facilitate patient service and collections of facility receivables.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize, plan, and direct a department.
